Nerd runs deep in my family. My father has it. My brother has it. My mother has it. My cousin has it. My grandmother has it. And…I have it!
Every year my family dresses up for Christmas. That’s right… I said Christmas. Through a series of silent ballots, we vote on which theme we’d all like to have for the coming year. We choose from a master list that has such ideas like Where’s Waldo Christmas, Candyland Christmas, Star Trek Christmas, Literary Characters Christmas, Downton Abbey Christmas, etc. Then we dress up in full costume from me to my mom and dad to my 93 year old Granny. There’s a costume contest, a green screen that we take pictures in front of and usually a bevy of activities to choose from. One year we made Shire gingerbread houses and another we had a Star Wars origami class. There’s something for everyone at Eastbank on the day before Christmas. If you are in the greater Orlando area on December 24th come on by, and don’t forget your costume!!
