My Favorite Conventions
Today’s 5 Fandom Friday topic is the 5 conventions you’ve been to or wish to attend. The very first convention I ever attended was Star Wars Celebration. I took my brother for his birthday and it opened a whole new world for me. I’d never been to a con before that. I had no idea what to expect. No idea what was about to happen. I got bit by the convention bug…hard! So here’s my list.

New York Comic Con is a must for nerds of all persuasions! It has something for everyone. And this year it even eclipsed San Diego Comic Con’s staggering attendance. There are panels about everything you could ever want to know about. Sometimes I go with friends, sometimes I go along, and I always have a blast! Click Here for more information.
Nerd HQ was born out of Zachary Levi’s desire to bring a more personalized experience to the fans. And to raise money for Operation Smile at the same time. I haven’t heard if it’s coming back for a 5th year this year, but I sure hope it is. Because it’s an amazing event with a very worthy cause! Click Here for more information.
Last year was the very first year of Book Con and it was amazing. An entire convention dedicated to books and reading!. Why didn’t we think of this earlier. If you have a chance to attend this year… do it! Click Here for more information.
What once was Leaky Con, a convention born out of a deep, abiding love for all things Harry Potter, is now Geeky Con. A convention that celebrates all manner of geekdom! I can’t wait to see how it will change. Click Here for more information.
