Day 17 – Padme Amidala
Today’s inspiration come from Padme Amidala in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. (Enter the nerd) Formally Queen Amidala of Naboo, Padme is a senator in this movie and tones down her costumes and hair significantly from the first film. (Incidentally, this is the second Natalie Portman hairstyle copied so far.)
I shopped around for a headband to mimic the one Natalie wears in the movie, but was unsuccessful. Instead I used this $0.79 ribbon from Michael’s Craft Store or any gift wrapping store, that gives the same effect.
This is another example of me flying by the seat of my pants. I twisted sections in the front all the way to back to the base of my neck and secured it.
Then, I braided the majority of my hair down my back, leaving out 3 chunks to wrap around the braid. I twisted those sections and made a criss-cross pattern on the outside of the braid and secured the ends with bobby pins.
Finally, I wrapped both pony tail holders, at the base of the braid and at the start of it, with a section of twisted hair.
