“O Christmas nerds! O Christmas nerds!”
Day 12: Origami Nintendo mushroom ornaments
The directions for this origami ornament can be found here.
I just took the template and made it Nintendo specific by adding little eyes and then used a fine fishing line to string them into ornaments. This is super easy and a real cute way to nerd up your Christmas tree!!
“Geekin’ around the Christmas tree!”
Day 6: Book Christmas Tree
Who says you have to have a conventional Christmas tree? This year try something off the beaten path and I’m not talking a bright pink plastic abomination. Think outside of the box. Got a lot of books (perhaps a slightly unnaturally large collection?) stack them tall and wrap some lights around them. Creating a very unique and particularly nerdy Christmas tree. Sorta like this one. (Top with something perfectly geeky such as dork rim glasses!)
All my favorites are represented in the tree. Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, Star Wars Expanded Universe, Ender’s Game, Narnia, Jane Austen, Shakespeare, history books, Robert Kennedy biographies, etc.
On the first day of Christmas my true nerd gave to me…
A string of origami cranes for garland on your tree!!
Start off with 2 different colors of your choosing (I chose red and green for the Christmas season.) Fold into origami cranes.
And then string together with needle and thread to create the garland. You can make it as long or as short as you wish.
I’m aiming to have it go around the rim of the ceiling in my room. So I’ll need a pretty decent length!
Tomorrow: Doctor Who snowflakes!
