Day 26: Catwoman from 1960’s Batman
Day 27: Catwoman from Batman
Many women have donned the famous catsuit, but none were ever so sexy as Julie Newmar in the 1960’s Batman TV show. Michelle Pfeiffer’s is a really close second. Maybe it was really good acting, or maybe that was just Julie Newmar being Julie Newmar. She is in one of my favorite movies of all time, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. And in that movie, you can totally see the Catwoman coming out at times, and that was well before she would play Catwoman on TV. Some girls just have it!
I’ve always thought of myself as way too silly to be sexy, but I’m definitely channeling my inner cat for this one!!!
Day 20 – Claire from Jurassic World
By now we all know the awesome power of the mighty dinosaur. No one expected Jurassic World to sweep the box office the way it has. It even managed to kick the Avenger’s collective asses too. That’s quite the feat. It makes sense that something tied to so many of our childhood’s would get this kind of reception (I cannot wait to see Star Wars brush that record to the side.) But aside from the nostalgia, it is a really good movie!! I knew I’d like it. I didn’t know I would LOVE it!!
Bryce Dallas Howard’s, Claire is snooty, uptight, career oriented and single minded. She is far more concerned with the way things work, than whether or not she is enjoying life. It isn’t until imminent death threatens her, her nephews and an island full of people that she starts to show her humanity.
My bob is a little messier. This could be Claire after disaster strikes. A more disheveled, unkempt Claire.
I don’t have a catch phrase for this one except for “The park is open” so just go see Jurassic World if you haven’t already. If you loved the old ones, I really don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
Day 24: Ginger from Gilligan’s Island
Today I chose Ginger from Gilligan’s Island. Did anyone else ever wonder where all her clothes and hair products came from. Not to mention the electricity for the hair curlers that were obviously needed to create this hair do. Come on!! I know the professor was always hot for her, but there’s no way curling iron was his top priority when inventing things out of coconuts and palm fronds.
I used my Chi straightener to create this one. But my hair is too short for the voluminous curls she has here. In fact I think she must have packed a few hair pieces along with her glittering gowns. Perhaps that’s how she accomplished this one on an uncharted desert isle. And I know what you’re thinking… “Where’s your tropical print bikini, Liz??” Well it’s too cold to be wearing my bikini out. So plain old clothes will just have to do. Plus I’m not planning on getting stuck on any desert islands any time soon so I don’t keep it handy. (Though maybe I should!!)
We’re in the final stretch. Less than a week left of nerdy hair. I already have the last styles chosen. But I’m always looking for suggestions for the next series. So keep them coming!!
Day 26: Smurfette from The Smurfs
Today I travel to San Diego for Nerd HQ and all the San Diego Comic Con madness that the city has to offer!
So I chose Smurfette. That poor little girl Smurf who had no other girl around to talk to about girlie things. I spent many a Saturday morning watching and enjoying The Smurfs!!
To create the smurfiest hair possible, I used my Chi straightener to give it a nice polished and curled texture. Then I added a slouchy hipster hat (which if you know me… I sorta hate and call parasite hats cause they look like they are eating your brains.)
And this is the only time you will ever catch me wearing one!
